Professional Ballroom - Blackpool Festival 2011 is over. See you next year

After ten days of solid dancing the Blackpool Festival 2011 is officially over. The last competition held on Friday was Professional Ballroom. As usual, from the top 48, each dance was judged separately. At the end, we had same 7 couples in all the finals but Tango, where 8 couples were selected to dance. Despite the late hour and the fact that this was the last day of the festival and many people left already, the ballroom was packed with spectators. The audience loved the winners Arunas Bizokas and Katusha Demidova from USA and when they were announced they received the standing ovation for winning all 4 dances. But clearly the crowd favourites in Tango and Quickstep were Mirko Gozzoli and Edita Daniute from Italy. Mirko and Edita were placed second in all the dances. The third place went to another couple from US Victor Fung and Anastasia Muravyova who were third in all four dances.
