..What certain  countries ?  What is local ?  Which Local ?   No longer permitted ?  (  By whom, where, when , how has it come about ?   Under who's authority ? )    Member of IDSF affiliated  Body who are not IDSF members ?  What does that mean ?  ( you mean like believing in God but not being religious, or someone agreeing in substance with IDSF ideology, but not officially subscribing to it, or not being recognized by IDSF for non-payment of fees )   )     Do you mean the Body is not IDSF member, or the Body's members are not ?  Why would I care if my or any other "body" considers me "IDSF Athlete" or just a dancer somewhere along the line of association or membership belonging to IDSF member Body ?

For many readers English is not their  language of choice.  I mean this respectfully onyourtoes.

I agree with you onyourtoes but as I demonstrated, by not pointing the finger , identifying the Body, the groups,  the countries  you are promoting  mystery, unclear, vague,   and while it is good you force / make us think for ourselves,  we all think from our knowledge and advantage  and can come to very different conclusions,  which spread very fast in this small and elite dance community....as you probably know.

Do not be so much a gentleman,  nail it on the head,  we all will nod  our heads and say with a relief , thank God it is not in our locality,  and yes, I thought so...

I have not posted on this Forum to make friends, or win "arguments". I hope I was not  disrespectful.   Realizing you may be perhaps more touchy,  I can  foresee continued short sniping  responses  from you, not worthy of a rebuttal;  

Just for clarification and  not to sound mysterious, not to  pussyfoot around what need be said ,  leaving the waters cloudy , something you may feel I had accused you of ,  I agree with you in that IDSF should not hide information or directives which they wish to be followed, and would be unsuccessful if they ever tried to reinforce sanctions against those who were unaware of such hidden rules ,  I hope this is clear now,   no more insults, no further  innuendos please,  no more sending of insincere wishes.  j

NEWS

There has been recent discussion on this forum regarding the need for court action to clarify the legality of banning competitors from participating in "non-registered" competitions.

I understand that at the WDC AGM at Blackpool it was agreed that WDC affiliated member bodies would support any amateur taking court action against an IDSF National Organization that penalized a competitor for dancing in a so-called unregistered event.

Perhaps this will put an end to IDSF's insistence that they and they alone are going to be in complete control of everyone involved in dance competitions.

What surprises me (in retrospect it should not)  is that you will very happily claim that everything done by the British Dance Council, the teaching societies and the vast majority of your fellow professionals is wrong and nothing they do is right even when it is!  For you though IDSF is sacrosant and anyone who voices an adverse comment is "silly" or at least with "silly arguments".

I see nothing silly in stating publicly I think it is totally wrong for IDSF to hide important information away and cause confusion.    Rumours are rife and concealing information is not helpful,

Most cer tainly I do not believe every thing WDC does is  right.  At this moment I feel they made a major mistake at their AGM when they voted to retain for Professionals the old fashioned system of restricting their World Professional Championships to 2 couples per country.  By all means make the organiser responsible for part of the expenses for 2 couples per country but make the event open exactly as they are doing for the Amateurs.  They should not run an Amateur World Championship with a different format to their Professional World Championship. in my opinion.
