Hairs for competitions

I like to chance my hairstyle for competition and need your help cause I don't know how the girls make it!

I like to make hairs like that:

The only thing which confuses me is that these girls have not so long hairs - so are they using something to put in or use fakehairs?

My dance partner just got frustrated and bought a wig - short, dark brown.  Now she doesn't have to do anything to her hair, I suppose - but she looks really good in it.

Yeah.. I think it is even better to have shorter hair and use fake hair to make the bun bigger.. Because I personnaly have very long hair, but i cant do the bun big and puffy ( I must do it as small and tight as possible ) because my own hair is too heavy.. If you use fake hair , you can make a light big bun that will not move and when you jump and do turns ...

I just use a fake bun for competitions as I have quite short hair and findit so much easier. x
